Beat Traffic, Keep Moving

If you’ve driven down Lake Street at five o’clock on a weekday, then you know traffic in Minneapolis. If you’ve inched along 34W for an hour, then you know traffic in Minneapolis.

In 2011, Minneapolis was one of the worst cities for traffic delays, in terms of hours per commuter – the average driver 44 hours per year just stuck in traffic!

Here’s the twist: Minneapolis has the 5th best public transportation system in the country. And what helps with terrible congestion on the roads? Public transportation! Public transportation helps decrease traffic during rush hour, saves fuel, and saves you time.

If we all took the bus or light rail when possible, overall time spent in traffic would go down for everyone on the road.

Here, you can find maps, schedules, and more information about using Metro Transit.
